Leafcutter Ants

Golfito, Costa Rica

Although this video was taken in Costa Rica anyone who has visited the tropics has seen leafcutter ants. The industrious buggers clear paths through the jungle to make highways for workers to carry leaves back to the hill. They use the leaves to cultivate a fungus which they eat (ant-fungus mutualism).
