Looks like a ‘triffid’ to me. (You probably have to be over 40 to know that.)
Special light from meteors causes these plants to morph into huge, flesh-eating terrors.
By coincidence, there just happens to be a comet visible in the sky now. For safety’s sake, better stay out on the boat… and in salt water. (It melts them).

Yup—-it’s a triffid for sure. Or part of Medusa’s hair-do. But I vote for a triffid. Stay on the boat and do not take any specimens onboard. You two live by the luck of the Irish. —Mom/Peg
