We found these old issues of Wind Vane; an early zine about multihulls, cruising, and seasteading from some of the founders of the movement. Contributing authors include Jim Brown, Jo Anna Brown, Tom Freeman, Jo Hudson, Tim Mann, and John Marples. It makes interesting reading. I don’t know how many issues were published but if you have some that I’m missing please send them to us and we’ll post them along with these.

Would like very much to establish contact with Winter family, Hudson, Brown, Marples, Mann, or other friends. There is certainly some interesting catching up to do. Please do write. All best, Brent

Jim Brown was at the Annapolis Boat Show this year. Information about his current project can be found at (outrig.org). John Marples continues to run a design and consulting business (searunner.com). I know he’s active because the new owner of TimeMachine consulted with him about retrofitting a more modern rig. I spoke with Heart a few years ago in Costa Rica and he’s still working on inverters. As for the others, I’m not sure. Your best bet would be to get in touch with Jim and John.

I’m enjoying Jim’s new book now. It’s well worth the read.

Would like to connect with Brent Whipple who sold me his 31′ Searunner, Tattoo in 1976. Looking forward to some catching up to do.
    Peace….Narayan (formerly John)

[…] One individual in possession of a few of these now decades-old booklets has scanned them into pdf and posted them on the web at the following address: http://sv-timemachine.net/2007/09/wind-vane/ […]
