food vendor. Devil and Congo festival. Portobelo Panama

Portobelo, Panamá

We arrived in Portobelo just in time for the Fiesta de Congo y Diablos. Unfortunately, Ben had to catch a bus to Panama City before the festivities really got started. Ask us about the crazy frenchman.

Canal photos are coming, internet is sparse.

I am sure you will go on to San Blas—Niki and I were in there with your Dad. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GROUP OF ISLANDS.Probably the most interesting and friendly people we had encountered. What a great experience you guys are having. Copme on up to Texas–would love to see you.

Do you have any idea what the next few months have in store for you? I really want to meet up with you still. What are your Caribbean Island plans? Still thinking of crossing the big blue atlantic? Wow. Its all so amazing. 8-)

  3. GOR says:

Well, OK. What about that crazy Frenchman?

  4. Peg Bowden says:

Yeah—-I’m waiting to hear about the crazy Frenchman. And as for the big blue Atlantic, how about just sticking around in the serene Caribbean for awhile and letting us land-lubbers sail away into the sunset sipping on rum drinks and watching the dolphins cavort?

Plans are slowly coming together… We’ll likely be in Panama in the San Blas area until early April, then we’ll head north to Isla Providencia, then Roatan and Honduras islands, then up through Belize, Yucatan channel, and on to Texas where we need to do repairs (found a parted wire in one of our backstays! Ayyyyy!!).

    Frenchman tales coming!
