My Molly is about the same age and hates her crib with a passion. I am so desperate to get her to sleep through the night in it. She didn't seem to have a problem with the crib prior to her having a bad cold that landed her in my bed so that I could keep an ear on her. Sigh.

The crib is adorable. Painting a crib...that's something you only do ONCE. :)

Paul: In hindsight I would have taken you up on the offer! I really can't get over what a hassle it was to paint the thing. Plus I had to go and find the least toxic, organic, no-VOC, etc. paint out there, which went on slightly thick and needed a lot of coats. So I couldn't just spray paint it or anything. ARGH. But it's cute and as we all know, cute goes a long way; it kinda has a folksy Mexican vibe.

We had a cradle, which is sort of between a standard bassinet and crib, sizewise. The cradle fit in our oddly configured bedroom and we figured we'd move her to a crib around six months... La la la. Anyway, she managed to stay down after 9 like I said above and slept the rest of the night aside from two feedings and one or two quick visits to put her back horizontal (I think she sits up in her sleep and then wakes up upset). Not too bad, considering, but man it would be lovely if she went down a little easier.

Too bad you didn't tell us you were in the market for a crib. Ours didn't sell on craigslist. (The one that Ollie was using when he invented the sport of "crib diving".) Slightly too pricey for the Eugene crowd is my guess. We could have lent it to you. We even know where the hardware is.

Great looking crib. As of about a week ago Alden has discovered separation anxiety, so I am imagining Ronin is already or will be soon feeling similarly. Not the best time to introduce the sleeping-by-yourself model. We found Alden likes it if we put a toy in each corner of the crib, never far from a distraction. Maybe that will help
